lijst bedreigde sites / list of
is

bedreigde sites
The buildings and sites mentioned below
are threatened by demolition - although they can be considered of
historic value. They are certainly worth preserving - and in some
cases proposals have been launched for adaptive re-use.
YOU can help us to
save them !
By writing a letter to those in position do decide upon the
preservation - the Amnesty International style ... but this
solidarity works !
Write a letter to
- the owner if his address is mentioned
- to the Flemish Minister of Culture, who is in charge of
historic buildings conservation.
Actually this minister is :
- Mr. Paul Van Grembergen
Minister voor Binnenlandse Aangelegenheden (Minister of the
Interior)
Kreupelenstraat 2
B-1000 Brussels
fax (+32)2.553 23 05
- The local council (city council) and the addresses mentioned
under the description of the site
Of course the support of international organisations, the
association where you belong to, friends and colleagues is welcomed.
You can always help us by publishing the appeals in your newsletter,
by spreading the information.
With your help we
(maybe) can save these important buildings and sites

Sie können natürlich auch Ihre eigene Vereinigung
veranlassen, durch Pressearbeit tätig zu werden.
Mit Ihrer Hilfe können wir diese industriehistorischen
Stätten der Nachwelt erhalten.

AALST:
Graanmagazijn De
Wolf-Cosyns (D. De Wolfkaai), mouterij
- In Aalst local
associations campaign to save three representative industrial
buildings: the grain warehouse De Wolf-Cosyns (De Wolfkaai),
the maltings and warehouse De Wolf -Cosyns (Arbeidsstraat) and
the former spinning mill 'Filature du Canal'
-
GERAARDSBERGEN-ZANDBERGEN :
station van
Zandbergen - alhoewel wettelijk
- Historic
railway station of Zandbergen, built by
the famous architect Cluysenaer. Although legally protected and
although local volunteers launched ideas about the re-use of
the building (and are willing to engage themselves actively in
the future use of the building) all efforts end in a deadlock
because of the burocracy and the obstinacy of Belgian
Railways.
Realisierung einsetzen will, verkommt der Bahnhof weiter
infolge der Untätigkeit der NMBS-SNCB.
-
HALLE:
Spoorwegstation
- The railway
station of Halle was dismantled to make space for
the High Speed Train (TGW), with the firm promess that it would
be rebuilt for cultural purposes. Four years later the
remains of this station were found back in a field, unprotected
from rain, weather and vandals...
-
ZEEBRUGGE (BRUGGE):
Cokesfabriek van
Zeebrugge ("Carcoke") - indrukwekkende
terreinen
- Cokes factory.
The last historic cokes factory in Flanders owned by
the Flemish region, but endangered because of the pollution of
the area - and the value of the ground in the harbour of
Zeebrugge. Impressive site worth of preserving and adaptive
re-use. A touristic destination may be a good new
use.
